Our first-ever, entirely free, book festival.

Celebrating authors of colour and making literature accessble.

We have partnered with Broccoli Productions to create our first-ever book festival, right in the heart of South-East London. The two-day Free Books Fest is a celebration of all things creative, placing authors and artists of colour at the heart of it. Whether you’re an avid reader or interested in discovering some new books, you’ll find a home here this weekend!

We have an exciting programme of events lined up for children and families, through to adults, there will be something for everyone, including:

  • An entirely free bookshop for you to browse and take home some books

  • Artist-led Illustration workshops

  • Author-led writing workshops

  • Talks with London-based authors

  • Podcasting workshops

  • How to get into the publishing industry (writing a book)

  • Book singings

  • A space to come and chill for the day

  • and more!

We are incredibly passionate about making the world of books as open and accessible as possible. Feeling the excitement of taking home a brand new book and getting lost in the pages should be something that each and everyone one of us can have the chance to experience. Therefore, all you need to do is bring yourself (and a bag) to come and take part, learn some new skills, meet some local authors and of course, take home some wonderful new books by authors of colour.
